Making Every Lesson Count
ALL ABOUT ME
A Natural Piano Instructor
Both my grandmother and mom taught piano. I was lucky to have started piano at an early age with my mom and then at age 12 I joined the studio of Marjorie Leonardi. After high school, where I was actively involved in bands and choirs, I went to a school that took music seriously, Luther College, and earned a B.A. in Music. I loved playing with Concert Band, Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra while there.
I teach lessons to learners of all abilities, ages 6 and up, in my Easton studio.
My philosophy is that you get out of piano lessons what you put in!

Both of our children have taken piano lessons with Abby West since
they were very small and both of them have taken what they learned
from years of instruction and practice and applied it to other areas
of music. Abby’s kindness and patience, but firm insistence on regular
practice and correct technique, has been beneficial to both of them in
so many different ways. I’m grateful to Abby for teaching our children
to make their own music and for allowing them to feel the joy that
comes with that creative outlet. Abby’s instruction has been an
invaluable part of their education.

Abby has been teaching my son now for several years. She is an absolutely gifted teacher! Not only does Abby make her instruction fun and engaging, but she also provides the necessary structure and support that allows every learner to succeed. My son is on the autism spectrum and it has been awe-inspiring to watch him become a passionate pianist who loves to play. I am so grateful for Abby's expertise and devotion to her students and cannot recommend her highly enough!
